Hello from Dubai!

I'm Fariha, a seasoned UX researcher dedicated to making technology both intuitive and inclusive. With over a decade of experience, I've led cross-cultural research projects at global tech companies and innovative startups, such as Google and Wing, as well as at dynamic environments like CAFU. My work focuses on synthesizing complex user data into actionable insights that drive user-centered design across diverse markets.

My journey into UX Research

I started my career with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, initially exploring coding during my first internship at Microsoft. There, I got involved in the entire development lifecycle of the applications we built. It didn't take long for me to discover my fascination with how people interact with technology. This interest, combined with a curiosity about user psychology and human-centered design, led me to transition from software engineering to UX research.

To enhance my skills, I completed a Master’s specializing in Human-Computer Interaction, which equipped me to conduct research that connects product design with user needs.

I believe that technology should work for people, and as a UX researcher, I’m focused on making that happen. My work centers on making technology more user-friendly and intuitive, focusing on enhancing user experiences.

What Guides My Work

At the core of my research is a commitment to empathy, collaboration, and inclusivity. I believe great design happens when every voice is heard, so I work closely with designers, engineers, and product teams to ensure that user insights shape the entire development process. My approach also prioritizes culturally relevant experiences—because technology should serve the diverse people who use it, not the other way around.

As a third-culture kid—Bangladeshi by heritage, raised in Dubai, and educated in the U.S.—I bring a global mindset to every project. Having lived across different cultures, I’ve seen firsthand how user needs and expectations shift based on context. This perspective helps me craft research that goes beyond assumptions, ensuring that products work for real people in real-world settings.

Beyond Research

Travel and exploration fuel my curiosity. I love venturing to new places, whether it's getting lost in historic streets, unwinding in hidden cafés, or immersing myself in diverse cultures.

Back at home, my downtime is often spent with a book in hand, strumming melodies on my guitar, or catering to Luna, my cat, who expertly interrupts my quiet moments. Each of these activities keeps me grounded and inspired, reminding me that the best insights often come from stepping away from the work desk.
